Surgical Innovations Course Explores Connectomic Approach to Glioma Surgery

This past weekend, Synaptive Medical held a two-day surgical innovation course in La Jolla, California, on taking a connectomic approach to Glioma surgery.

next generation robotic digital microscope. This course highlighted the future of Glioma surgery and cranial surgical approaches in general to avoid deficits in patients.

Thirteen neurosurgeons and one neuro psychologist took part in the lab and were given an overview of Modus V™ by Synaptive’s product managers.

Dr. Teo and Dr. Sughrue showcased successful results and patient outcomes using the BrightMatter™ and Modus V platforms, several of whom were patients that other institutions had deemed “inoperable.” They lectured on connectomics, diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), white matter tractography, robotics and techniques in Glioma surgery.
