Marc R. Buntaine has worked in the Medical Capital Equipment industry for over 25 years beginning as President of Elekta USA in the 1990’s 

During that time, Marc launched a variety of neurosurgery products, including the Toronto-based Viewing Wand, the first commercial Image Guide Surgery System. He then co-founded Surgical Navigation Technologies (SNT) and launched the StealthStation™ systemnow owned by Medtronic. He then launched the SonArray, the first optically based Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT) system and sold it to Varian Medical Systems 

Next, Marc co-founded Still River Systems/Mevion Medical Systemsintroducing the concept of a single room proton center by utilizing a superconducting rotating cyclotron. He then designed the Clarity System, a video surgery enhancement product and licensed it to Stryker Corporation 

Marc then joined Mobius Imaging as Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Upon Mobius’ acquisition by Stryker in 2019, he joined Stryker as Vice President of Sales for Airo TruCT.  

In June 2020, Marc joined Synaptive Medical as CEO. 

Marc has a degree in Humanities from New College of Florida and an MBA from Yale University. He worked as a Bain consultant and in corporate finance at Cummins Engine Company in his pre-medical device career.
