Magnus joined Synaptive in January 2022 as Chief Financial Officer with over 20 years of finance, accounting and leadership experience focused on the medical equipment field.  Magnus spent the past 11 years with Varian Medical Systems (the world’s leading supplier of radiation therapy equipment, software and accessories for cancer treatment), most recently as their CFO during the closing of its purchase by Siemens for $16 billion. Within Varian, he also spun out their imaging components division and listed it as a standalone public company. Prior to CFO, Magnus served as the Chief Accounting Officer for four years and various other finance roles of increasing responsibility. Prior to Varian, he spent 13 years in the life-science and venture capital group at PwC, including leading several IPO’s in the health care space. Magnus received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of California and a Masters in Accounting from San Jose State University.  Magnus also is a California licensed CPA.
